Your Day In CourtSeptember 6, 2024“Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son.” - John 5:22Today, I want us to talk about the time we will all stand before God to give an account for our lives. This is when we will have our day in court. As we dive into this topic, keep in mind that when it comes time for you to have your day in court, make sure you know the judge. That is the key because when our time comes we will experience the judge in three specific ways. We’re going to look at the first way today, and then we will discuss the other two on Monday. The first thing that will happen when we have our day in court is that we are going to encounter the powerful vision of the judge. When we appear before the judge, will we learn that this is no ordinary judge. This judge is a king. He is the King of Kings. He is sitting on a great white throne. It is a great throne because He is the most powerful judge you will ever stand before. It is a white throne because He is the most pure judge you will ever stand before.Who is this judge who is so perfect and so pure? It may shock you to learn it is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. The baby born in Bethlehem is now the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the universe. How do we know that? Because Jesus Himself told us, “Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son” (John 5:22).Because the judge is Jesus, He has the most powerful vision. Nothing escapes His sight. He can see it all – everything we’ve ever done and every motive behind every action. With this in mind, we need to be motivated to live our lives in a way that honors the Lord and shows others His love. We need to conduct ourselves in a way that we’re proud of when we stand before the throne one day. We need to live in a way that merits us hearing the words “Well done, good and faithful servant.”Are you living in a way that honors the Lord? Are you ready to stand before the throne and give an account for your actions? If the answer is no, or if you’re even hesitating to answer these questions, my prayer is that you will spend time asking the Lord to forgive you of your sins, that you’ll repent, and that you’ll start living in a way that is pleasing to Jesus Christ. Dear Lord, thank you for being on the throne. I am excited to spend eternity with you in heaven, but for now, while I’m on this earth, help me to live in a way that honors you and obeys your commandments so that I am ready to give an account for my life one day before your throne. In Jesus’ name, amen. ... See MoreSee Less

The Mighty SaviorSeptember 5, 2024“I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?” - Jeremiah 32:27It is almost impossible to watch the news nowadays without hearing of some horrific event or natural disaster. Hurricanes, earthquakes, murders, war, famine, disease, kidnapping, tsunamis…the list goes on and on. It’s enough to make you want to turn off the TV and never watch the news again. However, even without broadcast news, there is no escape from the dark reality of suffering. Since that day thousands of years ago when Adam and Eve took the first bite of forbidden fruit, choosing to rebel against God’s authority, creation has been suffering the consequences of sin. And thousands of years later, Jesus died on the cross, defeating sin’s power. But sin’s presence still exists. And it will be present, along with its consequences, until Christ returns. This sounds like a bleak picture, doesn’t it? But we can’t stop here. Jeremiah 32:27 offers hope. It offers victory. Nothing is too hard for our God! He is the God of all mankind – the Lord over all creation. The winds and waves obey His voice. Yes, He allows disaster. He is in control of all things – even the injustice that He hates. But He always stands ready to save. He longs to rescue…to deliver…to heal. Nothing is too difficult for Him.So, when the news seems hopeless. When all you want to do is crawl back in bed and throw the covers over your head…remember, nothing is too hard for your God. Look to Him for comfort. Run to Him for refuge. Trust in Him for everything you need. Because not only is He able…He is graciously willing. And this, my friend, is good news!Dear Father, I praise You because nothing is too hard for You. You are a mighty Savior and a humble servant. In You, I find everything I need. Even though Your ways do not always make sense to me, I choose this day to trust You. Thank You for saving me. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus’ name, amen. ... See MoreSee Less
