OUR BELIEFS

The body of Christ known as First Southern Baptist Church is always trying to give glory to
Jesus! We do this by serving our families who are a part of the church body. This makes our
church body a stronger circle. When we as a body are loving each other its only natural to want
to serve others in our community and share the love of Jesus!

We are a church that believes in ministry - working and ministering don't bring salvation but they
show what has taken place in your heart!

Those who join us must expect to join in the ministry! We will encourage you to get your
passport if you join us. We want to be prepared to go when God leads.

We have expectations of those who join our church
1. That they are believers in Jesus Christ and are striving to serve Him!
2. That they will be in church if they are in town. If they are out of town – they will visit a church
where they are.
3. That they will be involved in a Bible study group on Sunday mornings
4. That they will give to support the church as God leads
5. That they will find a place of service in a ministry that we are presently doing or will be looking
to start a new ministry that God has laid on their hearts.

A part of being a Southern Baptist means we believe in missions! This year we sent groups to
Canada, Mexico, Belaruse, India, and Indonesia. We also directly support missions through
the cooperative program of the Southern Baptist Convention. This allows us to support 10,000
missionaries all over the world.

Do you have a heart to serve!
If so then you need to plan now to join us on one of our trips next year. We are currently praying
about several areas for next year. Make sure you have a valid passport ( you can not travel to
any where outside the US without one - even Canada or Mexico) Start Praying for God's
leadership in where you should serve and where your gifts and talents would be best used.
Start saving! Our church budgets some to help folks go on missions but we all have to do our
part!
